Assessments for Patients with ABI and Challenging Behaviour

A brain injury often creates changes to a persons, personality, thinking, senstations and emotional regulation. These changes can lead to frustration and can sometines manifest as challenging behaviour such as physical or verbal lashing out. Challenging behaviour not only limits a persons opportunities but also and creates distress for carers and family.

Dr Moore designed a bespoke assessment for assessing clients with challenging behaviour (the BAS-ABI). It uses a unique assessment approach using a trans-paradigm method, enriching an understanding of a client’s behaviour, its causes, functions and most importantly how to support its treatment and care.
